SHARE Facebook Twitter By Gary Truitt – Dec 13, 2012 SHARE Home Energy B20 Powering Navy Building Facebook Twitter Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Energy) Tom Hicks recently experienced a first-hand look at how biodiesel is being used to heat a Navy base. “The Navy uses an annual average of 30 million barrels of fuel per year which equates to about $4 to $5 billion of fuel cost,” Hicks said during the tour. Because of this, it is important to explore additional and alternative sources like we see here today at St. Julien’s Creek.” Hicks continued, “This is a perfect example of what the Navy is trying to do by using B20, a 20 percent biodiesel, 80 percent conventional fuel to run the steam plant from domestic sources that are competitively priced.” The first Navy plant in the Mid-Atlantic region to use B20 is located in St. Julien’s Creek Annex in Portsmouth, Virginia. The biodiesel blend will provide steam to heat 16 office buildings and 13 warehouses. Over the course of the winter, 235,000 gallons of B20 are expected to be used to create the heat. Previously the plant used traditional, petroleum-based fuel oil. According to theNational Biodiesel Board, the B20 blend is priced competitively with the petroleum based diesel, and will not increase the Navy’s costs to heat the base, while helping to meet the Secretary of the Navy’s goals for greater energy security. Therefore I am appealing to Commissioner Harris to assign at least two additional guards to the sub-district.”“Two guards are stationed in Ardnacrusha with the third recently retired and I understand that the process is already underway to replace him.”“Although in County Clare, the area is right on the doorstep of Limerick City. It has a high population base and is very urbanized in places.”“The rostering schedule means that for 40 per cent of the week there is no guard on duty. During this time, cover is provided from Mayorstone Garda station in Limerick City. However, in most cases, Mayorstone Gardaí do not get near the communities that fall within the Ardnacrusha Sub-District because of pressures in the city suburbs and staffing limitations.”“I recently met with Superintendent Derek Smart of Henry Street Garda Station, to outline my concerns for staff shortages in the district. Superintendent Smart and his senior colleagues have set up a specialized sex crimes unit which incorporates ten Garda personnel. However, he will not be able to free-up guards for deployment in Ardnacrusha Sub-District.”“Ardnacrusha needs at least two dedicated community guards and a full-time Garda presence for peace of mind and safety in the community,” Cllr Crowe declared.Other issues that will be discussed at Monday night’s meeting include neighbourhood watch schemes and home security.by Rebecca [email protected] Shannon Airport braced for a devastating blow Housing 37 Compulsory Purchase Orders issued as council takes action on derelict sites Print Limerick on Covid watch list WhatsApp Facebook
The amount of time between the sale of a property and the registration of this information with HM Land Registry varies. It typically ranges between two weeks and two months. Data for the two most recent months is therefore incomplete and does not give an indication of final monthly volumes. Occasionally the interval between sale and registration is longer than two months. The small number of sales affected cannot be updated for publication until the sales are lodged for registration. 1 was of a residential property in Birmingham for £1 million and over Mobile (5:30pm to 8:30am weekdays, all weekend and public holidays) 07864 689 344 This month’s Price Paid Data includes details of more than 90,000 sales of land and property in England and Wales that HM Land Registry received for registration in March 2018. Sports Minister Mustapha Ahmed says he will take responsibility for the delay in paying the Black Stars winning bonus after thrashing Mauritius 7-1.The game played at the Accra Sports Stadium last month was the team’s first 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.According to the Sports Minister, the buck stops with him, assuring the players that the ministry is working around the clock to address the issue.“I will not blame anyone for the delay. If they said it’s the ministry’s fault, I have accepted the blame”, he told Patrick Osei Agyemang on Asempa FM’s Fire for Fire show. His deputy, Vincent Oppong Asamoah, had earlier blamed the GFA for submitting the team’s budget late. This according to him made it impossible for the ministry to process the cash on time. The GFA subsequently denied it, saying the budget was handed over on May 6, one clear month ahead of the qualifier. But Dr. Mustapha has called for calm between two institutions.“It’s very sad when you hear people criticize both the GFA and the Ministry for the delay in the payments. I believe next time things wouldn’t go this way,” he said. The ministry is expected to meet the GFA to discuss the recent feud, as well as other matters.–Follow Joy Sports on Twitter @Joy997FM. “Tsao was unavailable. We continue to evaluate him,” Roberts said. “He was evaluated this morning. Came in and didn’t feel right. So, with a day game, it’s hard to get somebody from Oklahoma City.”The game was long enough for Kenley Jansen to blow his second save in three days (after converting 25 consecutive save situations before that), both teams to waste scoring opportunities and A.J. Ellis to forget his starting pitcher.“When did he pitch? Was that today?” Ellis joked when asked by Japanese reporters about Kenta Maeda who went the first five innings. It was also long enough to encompass both kinds of Puig moments. In the ninth inning, he led off with a single, went to second on a wild pitch – and inexplicably stayed there when Ellis dropped an attempted sacrifice bunt.Hours later, Puig gained redemption with his bases-loaded single to break the stalemate in the 17th. “To lose three in a row, three walk-offs in a row – that wouldn’t have been very good,” Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez said of something that hasn’t happened to a Dodgers team since 1991. “Especially when the game is going so long. Everyone’s tired. You don’t want to walk away with a loss.”Sunday’s game was such a marathon it will bleed over into Tuesday. Ross Stripling was scheduled to start that day. Instead, he went three scoreless innings in relief to get the win Sunday and Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said afterward he would not start Tuesday.Sunday’s oddities even started before the game.Everyone got in the game except starting pitchers Alex Wood and Scott Kazmir – and Saturday’s goat, reliever Chin-Hui Tsao. He sat conspicuously on the bench in the dugout for the five-hour, 47-minute affair, rarely moving let alone leaving for the bullpen.Afterward, Roberts said he learned before the game from the Dodgers’ medical staff that Tsao had “some soreness” and was unavailable to pitch. There wasn’t time to get reinforcements from Triple-A Oklahoma City in time for Sunday’s game — or so they thought. An OKC-to-San Diego direct flight takes 4 1/2 hours. Anything to write a different ending to their Groundhog Day weekend in San Diego. It just took them a really long time to find one. A really long time.Yasiel Puig’s two-run single in the 17th inning opened the door for a four-run rally that sent the Dodgers to a 9-5 victory at Petco Park on Sunday afternoon — and evening — and allowed them to avoid a three-game sweep by the San Diego Padres and end a four-game losing streak.Freshly stung by walk-off losses Friday (on Melvin Upton Jr.’s ninth-inning home run off Kenley Jansen) and Saturday, (on a bases-loaded walk by Chin-Hui Tsao), the Dodgers walked the tightrope for their longest game since another 17-inning marathon with the Padres in April 2009, using 22 of their 25 active players, including Clayton Kershaw who appeared as a pinch-hitter.
