Cosplay is pretty awesome, and we love seeing fans dress up as characters they love, but what’s even better is when a character is portrayed by the very actor or actress that brought it to life.Jill Voth, who played Jill Valentine in 2002’s Resident Evil game has given fans exactly what they wanted and dressed up as the iconic character in a recent photo shoot. When speaking to IGN about why this is something fans have always asked of her, she said, “I think people have always felt connected to her, she’s iconic, and there’s a reason that after so many years she and the game live on.”The idea to cosplay as Valentine began after an IGN fan convention in Bahrain. On the way back to her hotel, Voth was met by an eager fan who rushed to give her a custom made STARS beret. Voth loved the gift and posted a picture of herself wearing the beret on her instagram page. The response to the picture was “overwhelming,” according to Voth. The cosplay was shot in and around downtown Los Angeles by photographer Gil Riego Jr, with additional photos by Flip Cassaday. Voth said that the shoot was “Inception-like,” and that some people who saw the shoot recognized her and called out Valentine’s name.Julia said she had a lot of fun doing the shoot and wants to cosplay as Jill Valentine again. She said that she will attend some conventions this year and cosplay as Jill. If you’re planning to be at any major conventions, be sure to keep a keen eye.You can see all of the pictures by following this link.
