first_imgIt seems that Apple isn’t content with just going after Samsung for patent infringement. The company today filed a second complaint against HTC with the International Trade Commission hoping to block sales of several HTC devices.Like with the Samsung case, Apple feels HTC is copying its iPhone and iPad device designs. This isn’t the first time Apple and HTC have had legal disputes as Apple filed a patent complaint against the company back in 2010. HTC then filed a countersuit in May of the same year stating that Apple was actually infringing on five of its patents. In both the Samsung and HTC cases it seems like Apple is facing a battle due to each company having their own complaints to fire back with.AdChoices广告The new complaint against HTC has yet to be described in detail, but relates to both the device and the software it runs. We can therefore assume Apple isn’t happy with a hardware design feature that is very close to the iPhone’s design and some aspect of the interface which may mirror iOS in some way. Apple’s first case against HTC will be seen by a judge on August 5 and is also about both the hardware and software HTC uses. With Apple now pursuing two HTC on two fronts, and HTC retaliating with one, you’d expect both companies to end up coming to some kind of agreement. However, the stakes may be too high for either company to back down and that would mean a long and expensive court battle.via Bloomberglast_img read more
