first_img[This is not the iPhone 5.]Are we already so bored with all the iPad 2 news that we’re back onto speculating about the latest revamp of the iPhone? Truthfully, we’ve been talking about the iPhone 5 since the iPhone 4 was announced. We’ve heard talk of an edge-to-edge display, of it having Near Field Communications (NFC) capabilities, and of it having an aluminium body. Today, 9to5Mac reported that some of the rumors floating around may indeed be true, and there may even be new details.According to 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman, a source from Foxconn — whom he believes to be reliable — has provuded some info about the fifth-gen iPhone. The big news is that the iPhone 5 has already been seen at Foxconn and is going into the normal mass production stages soon. The design is said to be similar to the iPhone 4, but with two large differences: the screen size, and the materials.Apple has apparently decided to change the back glass enclosure found on the iPhone 4 and use something more like what the first-gen iPhone had. According to the source, the back of the phone will not be curved, and instead will have a flat metal back. The type of metal is still to be determined. The rumors are that it’s aluminum, but that’s still to be confirmed. Apple keeps the same antenna design, which suffered from the Death Grip problem, it shouldn’t cause any reception issues with the flat aluminum back. The other big change is the screen size. There are still no exact display specs, but we hear it will be larger. In fact, Digitimes says it will be 4 inches. Gurman’s source doesn’t have the precise screen measurements, but the person said it seems to be larger than the one on the iPhone 4.What do you want to see in the iPhone 5?
